    We believe in the power of community. Our programs are designed to engage residents, foster relationships, and build a stronger, more resilient Yonkers.     Oak Street Garden, 28 Oak Street, Yonkers, NY

    In an effort to promote food security, healthy eating, volunteerism, and civic engagement, YCAP works collaboratively with Greyston to provide a community garden. The Oak Street Garden was transformed from a vacant lot to an aesthetically enhanced garden, where fresh produce is grown. To date, there are 27 beds and 135 olunteers who maintain the garden.

    National Night Out (NNO)

    National Night Out occurs annually on the 1st Tuesday in August and is a national effort to promote police & community partnerships, crime prevention activities, and neihborhood camaraderie.

    We advocate for policies that enhance the well-being of our community members. Our outreach programs raise awareness about critical issues and ensure that the voices of Yonkers residents are heard in local decision-making processes.     Annual African American Heritage Festival

    This festival happens annually at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla, New York. We honor inlusion executives, enjoy live entertainment, music, dance, drama, poetry, ethnic food, cultural arts and crafts, health, and education.

    Yonkers Riverfest

    YCAP annually supports the Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront Business Improvement District, also known as Yonkers Downtown BID, which is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation created in 2002. The BID was formed to build working partnerships, encourage investment, and support initiatives for a healthier commercial district in the Yonkers downtown.
